The bill now goes to Governor Lynch. He can sign it into law, not sign it and let it become law, or veto it.
He's been quite clear that he believes "marriage is between a man and a woman."
Today Maine Governor John Baldacci signed Maine's marriage equality bill into law. Here's a little of what he said:
"In the past, I opposed gay marriage while supporting the idea of civil unions. I have come to believe that this is a question of fairness and of equal protection under the law, and that a civil union is not equal to civil marriage."
Let us hope that Governor Lynch emulates Governor Baldacci.
All this equality in one week! Congratulations, Maine!
You might want to correct the spelling of Judgment in your Consequences of gay marriage graphic. But, that is the correct spelling if you wrote this in Britain. :-)
ReplyDeleteThere really is no way to measure the potential and cumulative effects of such social engineering.
ReplyDeleteThere are indications though. Because we have less and less people being born each year, growing up and entering the work force, we see that Social Security will be bankrupt by 2014 or so.
The reality is that what has been designed by God (or nature for some) to be right, man has decided to ignore the basic principles of life. When we no longer value those simple principles for sustaining long term growth, this is the beginning of the end.
The eventual demise of the human race has begun.
See ya!!
I can see why you remained anonymous, #2.
ReplyDeleteYou really ought to do some research. Right wing talking points are so often wrong.
The US birth rate is increasing. It hit a low in 2006, but has been climbing steadily since. I'm sure that abstinence only sex ed has been a big help. Plenty of new babies being born to teens in Texas!
As for the rest of your silliness - there have been gay people since the beginning of time. The human race is still moving right along.
huh? Gays=fewer children? Maybe fewer children per household of married couples, but the number of children will be the same.
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget how the spikes in child birth occur too. War. When wars end, 9 months later there is a huge increase in birth rates, so is war good, and gays bad? That's sad if you think so.
