Homeless Memorial Day, Concord NH

Homeless Memorial Day Vigil - Concord, NH - December 20, 2013

Thirty or so people gathered in front of the NH State House (and the nativity scene) to remember those who died homeless in NH over the last year.  There were 30 names.

One man spoke of being homeless for 16 years. I'm unable to understand how we, as a society, can accept that.

I long for a world where homelessness was a much, much greater outrage than the remarks of some reality TV duckhead.

Absolutely right. There are many things wrong in our society and as a nation we ought to be ashamed. What is an outrage is that taking care of the less fortunate is branded by clever political marketing with the filthy "S" word. In 2013 it is disgusting. Many western nations successfully incorporate social programs in with their Capitalist programs and do not consider themselves Pinko Commies or Socialist bleeding heart liberals. Homelessness is not found in many countries such as Switzerland.

And now 'tis the Season that I'm hearing "oh buy local so it's not from China". Really?? Americans are going to have to make choices. Either you love capitalism or you don't. If you don't then you will put the squeeze on global trade ie; China. Make up your minds folks. Are you Christian and do you wish to truly live the values of Christ or are you just blowhards? Merry Xmas. And remember that 30 people died outside without a caring Christian to save them.

  2. There is no line on the Corporate balance sheet labeled "Giving a Damn".

    So They DON'T.

When Profit is the only thing that has "Value", everything else becomes "Disposable".

    That includes People.
