This is the best verbal commentary on this subject I have yet heard. It amazes me how the Christian Fundamentalist Right takes almost sneering joy in advertising its righteousness, but excludes the power of love for so many. Such as those of the same gender who love one another, those individuals unlucky enough to live in countries of Islam, individuals who look different, and those of course who dare to have a God different from theirs. Yes indeed, the Figuly's of this country, whose hateful, spiteful, full of vengeance, self-righteous, holier than thou behaviors who so easily demonstrate hate through their words. No matter how many times they repeat their sick mantra, hate is at the very heart of exclusion and discrimination, not the love of God. When times are rough, and Murphy has taken over, I repeat my own mantra, "Oh no, we've been Figuly'd".
